Preparing Case Briefs
Your case brief will be short (1-2page maximum) and very concise. These briefs should contain only the facts, legal decisions, reasons for the decisions, and occasionally the opinions of the brief writer.
The format of each brief should include the following:

2) Use the template provided
3) Prepare a case brief for the case outlined in these two articles:

- Case title and citation
- Case facts (Who, What, Where, When)
- Legal issue in the case (This is stated as a question that seeks to be answered)
- Decision (What was the court's answer to the above question?)
- Reasoning (Why did the court make this decision?)
- Your opinions/analysis of decision
